Access Denied to most commands in console

Hi,
today I came across an issue i've never seen before, I applied a configuration to a machine... logged out of the server. today when i logon to the server and open the console I have no access to many of the basic tasks? eg If I refresh Clients, i get
Access Denied: User does not have right to refresh clients.
manu of the other tasks are not greyed out? I'm running RU7.
Any ideas as to that might be going on... I have checked and I have access to the sql server... the dsn seems correct.. i've rebooted the server and restarted most services but no joy
Ghost 3.2 stand alone USB, multicast is grayed out!

Hello,
We are having an odd issue here.
We injected drivers for the new Dell Optiplex 7060 on ghost 3.2 and tried to create stand alone ghost64 USB key. However the multicast option is grayed out.
Any idea why? or what is the solution for this issue?

Upgrading Ghost for Windows 10 imaging

We are currently running Ghost Solution Suite 3.0 (Build 1246) and would like to know if we can upgrade straight to the latest version of the suite. Or do we need to do a brand new install?

Hello, I have aprobleme on my symantec ghost. I would like to create a picture but the copy of the picture does not want to launch. The problem is that I have everything set up and open all the ports but it does not work. the error message is :
Application error 512
Ghostcast Write error with Ghostcode 19944
If the problem persists, contact symantec Technioal support
And on the server ghost software the error message is :
Connection reset by client
Clients not being added into the console and Agent icon not on workstation

Issue: The client workstation is not being added into the console and Agent icon not on workstation
Eval copy ghost solution suite 3.2 release 7 running on eval copy of windows server 2016.
I am able to use remote agent installer and push files succesfully to clients and the Dagent is running on windows 10 pro
On the server the agent icon shows on taskbar and under computer on console.

GHOST 15

Hello.
Could you help me please.
I have been using GHost 15 for a long time.
But after I updated BIOS of my motherboard ASUS z170 pro gaming from 1xxx to any 3xxx version I can't boot anymore from GHOST disk.GHOST boot drive.
the computer shows me notice like "looking for drivers" for a minute and after that- no keyboard and mouse in the system - and it is not possible to choose anything for restoring my image.
I tried several different mouses and KB. I tried to implement all requried drivers in to the boot disk.
unfortunately it was not succesfull.
Asus support team answered that it is not possible BIOS going back from 3xxx to 1xxx version so I can't restore any of my images.
they confirmed that some critical changes were made in version 3xxx and I must update GHOST version.
Could you please advice how to restore my GHOST 15 images ?

PXE-E55: ProxyDHCP service did not reply to request on port 4011 (happening only at one site of a multiple DHCP/PXE configuration)

Here's a problem that just started happening last week.
We have GSS, DHCP, and a PXE server installed at our prime location in VLAN 253.
We also have Microsoft DHCP and PXE servers installed on separate servers in VLANs 83, 85, 87, 91, 93, 95, and 97.
At our VLAN 93 location, clients booting through network boot ARE assigned DHCP addresses, but receive the message "PXE-E55: ProxyDHCP service did not reply to request on port 4011".
All other locations are working properly.
I have verified the DHCP Scope for VLAN 93 contains Option 60 "PXEClient".
Switching that same client computer to VLAN 85 results in a successful PXE boot menu.
I've tried restarting Altiris PXE Services, to no avail.
I've tried restarting the DHCP Service, to no avail.
I've tried rebooting the DHCP/PXE server for VLAN 93, to no avail.
I've attached our PXE Configuration to this post, although it is pretty run-of-the-mill. MTFTP is disabled.
Any help on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Syspreping a Win 10 1803 and an extra user is being created

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the GSS 3.X system, but I've been working on Altiris 6.9 for a little while now.
Using GSS 3.2 RU7, I'm trying to capture and push out a Win 10 1803 64bit image. I've managed to get the dagent and automation folder installed(and stable, but thats another story), but when the system is syspreped, and captured, then, when it reboots, a new user is created. The user is a copy of the created administrator account (user1 as an example) but with the computer name added on as a .name (example user1.computername).
Has anyone encountered this and does anybody know of a fix/work around?

Hello,
I'm using ghostcast server to deploy images because i like to see the progression bar when the image is deployed (with the data transfer option selected in the imagedeploy job). Is it also possible to create an imagejob that uses ghostcast to create an image?

Hi. I'm following the instructions found here to create a ghost file from a Linux virtual machine. Unfortunately I'm encountering some issues. In the command prompt, I get the message "ABORT: 62, Attempted to access an inconsistent Linux partition. Operation aborted at user request"
It's Ubuntu 18.04, file system is ext4

Starting GSS jobs from command line

Hi - I have GSS 3.2 RU7 installed on 2012R2. I would like to be able to set off GSS jobs via the command line (.BAT files) on this system.
For example, I want "Job 92" to run on machine "PC01". Is there a way to do this?
I know the drag and drop is very easy, but I am looking to automate as much as I can, e.g., avoid having to log in to the console to set off a job.

I have over 400 PCs that I used GSS 2.5.1 almost flawlessly on. Then I had 25% of them upgrade to windows 10, and I had to upgrade to GSS 3.x and everythig that was simple became very complicated.
PC's don't want to rename to their current name after reimaging just being one of the problems.
This particular issue is about a PC that needs to receive a new image, but I cannot make it happen.
Some prelim info:
1. This PC has the altiris agent, and the automation folder installed.
2. This image pushed to an identical PC without problem, on the same subnet. (All PCs are on the same subnet).
3. Both the problem PC and the other PC had the same previous image,before pushing this new image.
4. Because 1 identical PC was able to boot and reimage without problem, I know the boot disk and PXE boot are correct.
The problem:
1. I drag the restore job to the appropriate PC object in console.
2. Eventually, the Status (in console) shows "Downloading disk image..."
3. When I check the "Status Detail" I see:

This continues every ~16 seconds, and nothing ever happens. I let this go since last Friday Morning, and it was still going like this today (Monday morning) before i stopped it.
To recap:
The PCs are exactly the same HW.
The PCs had the same previous image, so they are exactly the same SW.
The PCs are on the same network/subnet.
One PC connected, reimaged fine. This PC gets stuck in the above "Downloading disk imagge..." / Red "X" status 1 loop.
Any advice or suggestions?

Win10 1803 error when sysprepping

Anyone aware of the problem with "Generalize " in sysprep for windows 10?
Build 1709 went flawlessly - 1803 is another animal
I build all images in a VM environment. When building the 1803 the image (UEFI) I used Audit mode. (shift+F3 before minisetup) I tweaked the image and did remove most provisioned apps with the "windows 10 Debloater" powershell script from GitHub. It works well. AFter I'm done customizing windows, I sysprep.
Sysprep will complete, it reboots, mini setup will run but takes a LOOONG time. It will bootup to windows but in the Setuperr.log in C:\windows\system32\sysprep\panther\" it shows the below error.

Built a new unattend file from the 1803 Wim. Tested with and without and recive the same error.
I have activated windows and it is a good copy - downloaded from Microsoft volume licensing center.
Sysprepped a freshly installed windows 10 1803 with no alterations. Minisetup started BUT, in the setuperr.log I did receive the following errors again
Ran sysprep without the Generlize option and it sysprepped fine with no issues.
What could be causing this ? Altiris agent and SEP are not installed yet, windows is activated and is a typical image that I usually make.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Installing GSS 3.3 on new server

Hi All,
Im trying to install GSS 3.3 on a new build server - ive put Serevr 2016 on and downloaded 3.3 using our serial number. When i try installing it and pointing it to the licence file i used when installing 3.2 on a previous server i get an error message
"the licence file you specified is not a valid ghost solution suite licence
please select a valid licence for this product"
Do I need to ask the supplier for a new licence file for the install?

We currently use Symantec Ghost Solution Suite Ver: 3.2, for our imaging process and are now looking into using it for inventory management. Are there modules we can obtain? Do we need to purchase an entire suite?
Dynamic Machine Groups no longer working after GSS 3.3 upgrade

Hello,
We upgraded GSS 3.2 to version 3.3 and our Dynamic Machine Groups no longer work.
Is there any way to trouble shoot this?
Our previous DMG's were populating prior to the upgrade but now no longer populate.
Creating new DMG's does not solve the issue.

Ghost Solutions Licensing Info

What is the license purchasing requirement for Ghost? We are a small business with about 65 employees, 50% mac 50% PC users.
I have to manually setup all laptops when we get a new one or when a user leaves. I'm interested in using GS to create an image and to deploy when needed.
Do I have to purchase a license for each laptop that I use when I use GS? I will only be deploying as needed 1 at a time.
Don't know if GS is the best option for a smaller business.
